Greenwich Media Internet Marketing Survey Results - Sept 2005
During September 2005 Greenwich Media conducted an online survey to over 600 small businesses across various business segments located in upstate New York and Vermont.
The purpose of the survey was to gain market research on how small businesses use Internet Marketing and Search Engine Marketing strategies in their advertising plans. The following are highlights of the survey.
- 83% said they do not use pay per click advertising
- 65% said they do not use search engine optimization techniques
- 82% said their Web site was a key marketing channel
- 44% said they would most likely use search engine optimization and keyword research in the next 6 months

67% stated the main reason to use online marketing strategies is to increase sales
